Field Goal

If an Offense has driven the ball to the opponents side of the field but is not able to get either a First Down or a Touchdown then a Field Goal may be attempted. A field goal is a Special Teams kicking action where an offensive kicker attempts to kick the ball through the field goal posts or "uprights". If successful, the offense adds 3 points to the scoreboard. Play then proceeds to a Kickoff. If unsuccessful, the opposing team receives the ball at the spot where the field goal was attempted, which is 7 yards behind the original Line of Scrimmage. Play then proceeds to a Kickoff.

Remark: A Field goal distance is measured by adding 17 yards to the distance to the goalline. Example: you kick from 30 yards away of the opponents goalline, then this is counted as an 47 yards Field Goal attempt. If you try to attempt a field goal out of your matchsettings, we ask you for a field goal length, so Position of field + 7 yard for the kicker + 10 yards for the endzone. So if you attempt a field goal if distance is less than 35 yards, you would kick from the LOS at your opps 15, but not from the LOS of your opps 20 yards line. For the playbook, you will have to take the kicker offset and endzone offset into account by yourself. Please keep this difference in mind when making your settings.
